Delete your account

You can do it from inside the app, or by email if you have already uninstalled it.

In the app

Open Family Logbook and go to Settings.
Tap Delete your account.
The screen lists every household you belong to and what will happen to each one. Nothing is decided for you where it matters.
Enter your password to confirm, then tap Delete.

You need a connection: the data is removed from the server as you watch, not queued for later.

By email

Email sugarpancakedev@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask for deletion. Your account and anything only you can see will be removed within 30 days.

What is deleted

Your login. Your email address and password are removed from Firebase Authentication, and you cannot sign in again afterwards.
Your profile. Your display name, your language and your light or dark preference.
Any household nobody else is in, along with everything in it: its tiles, every entry ever logged, its lists and tasks, and the people or animals it kept track of. This is permanent and there is no backup.

What is kept

Households other people still use stay, and so do the entries you logged in them. You simply leave, exactly as you would by leaving a household without deleting your account.

That is deliberate. A feed logged at 3am is part of the household's record of its own week. The other member relies on it, and taking a year of entries out from under somebody else because you closed your account would be the wrong thing to do by default. Your name is removed from the household's member list, so you lose access to it immediately.

If you are the only administrator of a household that other people are still in, the app asks you directly: either make somebody else an administrator first, or delete the whole household with everything in it. It will not guess.

Crash reports

If you left crash reporting on, Firebase Crashlytics may still hold reports from before the deletion. They contain a fault, a stack trace, a device model and an installation identifier, but never anything from your log. They expire on Google's own schedule, within 90 days. Ask in the same email if you want them removed sooner.
